GM Produce are at the tip of our fingers.
Greetings its Alesha here again. Hope you’ll enjoyed the last post
and this one as well. Alright, enough with the chit chat, let’s get down to
business.
First, let us take a minute to critically look at the title,
and it said, 'GM Produce are at the tip of our fingers.' Now, what this simply imply
is that genetically engineered crops, live stocks and seeds are easily accessible.
It is not only in “America” as we may have learn it to be but, however, you can find it in the Caribbean as well. Yes! You
didn’t know that, well lucky you, now you know. Tell me what comes to mind……well,
to me, the part which refers to our fingers tips sounds to me like GM produce are global like globalisation.
Globalisation is the changing of the world where information technology is
used to communicate to other countries through trade, production, development, resources and information through mass media. GMO is changing the world for the better!

"Most Caribbean countries importation bills are high,"(News Americas) which means
they import more foreign goods than they export or produce. For more information check the link, Caribbean countries that import a lot.
It is evident that GM produce
are sold in Caribbean markets and also produced by local farmers. The reason being is, Monsanto is a large company that produce GM produce as well as seedling distributions had expand their business to the Caribbean. "According to a report the initiative was called, El experimento Caribeno de Monsanto." (Monsanto 2011)
Also, less economically developed countries (LED's) are known to import more than export. This is because
of a growing population and a high demand for agricultural produce to feed its people. Farmers around the world use
GMO so that they have crops all year long that can withstand harsh conditions,
for example lack of water, infertile soil, drought, land prone to excessive
water and pest.
